|

Before you decide on a hairstyle for 2008 you need to consider a few
factors: your face shape, your style, your work environment, and the image
you want to give. If you want to look like a professional then a classic
(conservative) cut might be the best option. However, if you are a young hip
rocker then a longer more trendy style might be the best choice for you.
There are lots of things to take into consideration when considering a new
hairstyle, but finding what is right for you doesn’t have to be be so
difficult, you just need to check out some of the coiffed styles and choose
one that fits you and your lifestyle!

The Classic cut
It’s a more conservative and sophisticated hairstyle, think of Pierce
Brosnan in his interpretation of “James Bond 007”. Because it is a classic
it will never go out of style and it exudes confidence and class. Side-swept
hair looks perfect with a cool grey suit and oxfords. It is a more mature
look, so to make sure it doesn’t age you add some texture with pomade or
paste, like Johnny Depp does.

The Short cut
Not everyone needs a full head of hair to have an exciting style, short hair
looks also classy and sophisticated, not to mention easy to care for during
the hot months. A clean cut can make some men look mature and sophisticated,
while on others it may do just the opposite, making them look younger.
You can push your bangs forward -- the Caesar cut-- as actor George Clooney
has been sporting.
Or you can Gel your bangs upward (not at a total 90 degree angle!) and
back, in more of a diagonal, by using gel or paste like Matt Damon.

The Medium length cut
For those who opt for medium length hair, a hairstyle that is very popular
is the messier look. You don’t want to look like you rolled out of bed
without combing your hair, but to allow for your hair to fall more randomly.
The way to achieve this look, which has been spotted on actors such as Brad
Pitt and Tom Cruise (in “Jerry Maguire”), is with the help of hair products
such as gel, paste, or wax. When getting out of the shower, don’t comb your
hair, simply apply the paste or gel and mess up your hair, making your hair
fall more randomly. Your hair will look more relaxed, laid back and more
“natural”. This is also a great hairstyle for the summer months.

The Long cut
Long hair for men is in style, but not much longer than shoulder length.
This relaxed hairstyle exudes a carefree attitude and is very manageable as
it only requires a good combing after the shower.
Orlando Bloom looks great with long hair as it gives him an edge. The only
disadvantage of this hairstyle is that it looks good on moderately wavy to
straight hair; curly hair will transform into an afro. It is definitely not
a look for you if you have a greasy hair problem and it may also not be the
hairdo for those working in professional fields such as medicine, law or
business.

How to style
Receding hairline
Most men find their receding hairline frustrating, however, it can be styled
and worn very well. Bruce Willis, pulls off this look extremely well. If
hair loss is your problem, cut your hair short all over; it will take away
from the fact that you have less hair, while it will look young and modern.
But you need to go very short, trimming or shaving you hair will disguise
your hairline making it seem like you want to wear your hair short
intentionally.
